Scott Campbell “Nobility Obliges” Exhibition

New York artist and tattoo specialist Scott Campbell showed some of his latest works off at the OhWow gallery in Los Angeles recently. Titled, “Nobility Obliges”, his art reveals what can be done with the American dollar. Campbell has been working with stacks of uncut currency for some time now, transpiring the greenback into unique cut outs with amazing symmetry. He also introduced another method resembling cattle branding using heat to burn the images onto parchment.  Most of his artistic work incorporates visual elements of recognizable images often seen in the tattoo world including skulls, guns, roses, religious icons and sex. Using currency as a medium for art is technically against the law, but also must be crazy expensive. It’s no wonder his typical followers are A-list celebs.
