Death Cab For Cutie – Home Is A Fire (By Shepard Fairey)

Street artist Shepard Fairey continues to make creative waves with his new video premier of Death Cab for Cutie’s “Home is a Fire” from the band’s upcoming 7th album Codes and Keys. Directed by Death Cab bassist Nick Harmer and Obey founder Shepard Fairey, the idea was said to “take the viewer on a journey to encounter the “Home Is A Fire” lyrics as street art.” Appropriately shot on the streets of LA, Harmer defines the song as “searching for something comfortable in an uncomfortable place.” Codes and Keys is available May 31, 2011 on Atlantic Records. Head over to Boing Boing to get the scoop from Fairey and Harmer themselves on how the video came to be.
