ESPN Films 30 for 30

Created to celebrate the venerable sports network’s 30 years of operation, ESPN Films 30 for 30 ($50) is a collection of 30 separate documentaries by 30 different filmmakers chronicling 30 different sports stories.  30 for 30 originally premiered in October 2009 and concluded in December 2010.  It began with an idea from ESPN.com columnist Bill Simmons, who wanted feature filmmakers to recount the sports stories, people, and events from the past 3 decades. Released purposely prior to Father’s Day the complete box set is now available and includes all 30 films spread across 12 DVDs. You can also now get them on Blu-ray in one six-disc set now at Best Buy ($100). I just watched “The Two Escobars” and it was phenomenal.
