Posted in Gear/Fashion, Kicks, Watches/Bags with tags , , , , , on July 22, 2011 by Citifiable

Japanese label CASH CA has been making waves for over 10 years years with their incredibly well made, well designed products. Their innovative approach to design caught my attention a few years back. For their Fall/Winter 2011 Collection they are releasing three unique collaborative projects, a second season luggage collection with immun., a footwear collection with Tricker’s and a second more laid back footwear collection with Keds. CASH CA and immun. present a backpack, a day pack and a shoulder pouch. Each piece comes in 4 color combinations. The backpacks and bags, each made with Cordura nylon and premium leathers, will be released between mid August and mid September 2011. CASH CA and Tricker’s present two pairs of shoes, a saddle shoe and chukka boot silos which come in navy and grey suede as well as a leather version with brogue detailing. The Keds capsule shoe collection also includes Liberty of London prints and British Millerain fabrics. They come in 3 colorways all of which will be available soon. Visit CASH CA’s website and check out their quality knitwear as well.

A.P.C. x Incase

If you listen to Kid Cudi you know he loves his A.P.C. jeans.  The French brand A.P.C. was started in the late 80’s by Jean Touitou and has a really nice subtle lineup of men’s and women’s wear that’s made a resurgence lately.  Now they’ve teamed up with Incase in their continued partnership with brands and artists on Apple accessories.  The 15″ Macbook sleeve and iPad 2 case included in this capsule are both done in signature A.P.C. denim.  Unfortunately the silk-screened versions are only available from A.P.C. stores in Asia.  A.P.C. has two shops in NYC and another in LA.

Hurley x Nike Air Max 90 Phantom 4Ds

Man we gotta get back to our roots – sneaker postings!!  Here’s a good one – the new Nike Salvation store in Malibu is dropping 500 pairs of these AM90’s done with Hurley and the artist Dalek.  These pickup the designs he did for Hurley’s new performance Phanton 4D line.  Why it took Nike so long to do a Hurley collab, who they’ve owned since the late 90’s, escapes me but definitely looking forward to seeing more in the future.  Release date is still TBD but could be as soon as tomorrow according to rumors…

BAPE x Porter ABC Camo Backpack

A very nicely executed collab between BAPE and Porter is now available on the North American BAPE website.  If you visit the SHOP and click through to the third page of goods, you’ll see the backpack in the upper left corner along with a few other pieces from the collection.  Perfectly applied ABC BAPE camo, some inner pockets and a cool little camera bag/pouch attached to the shoulder strap too makes this a great summer pack for day trips.

Bape x Mark McNairy Capsule Footwear Collection

A Bathing Ape has teamed with footwear specialist Mark McNairy.  Together they have designed a classic wingtop shoe which features Bape’s original camo. They have also designed a pair of Chukka Desert Boots which are a little too camo for my tastes, but a cool colab nonetheless.  I actually saw Mark wearing the wingtips a few months ago in Soho and they immediately caught my eye.  Both come with red outer soles and are expected to hit Bape Stores in the coming months ($400-$500).

The 50 Greatest Streetwear Brands by Bobby Hundreds

Posted in Gear/Fashion, Life with tags , , on June 24, 2011 by Citifiable

This recent Complex posting has been getting a lot of controversial attention, so I figured it was worth a look.  Complex commissioned streetwear veteran Bobby Hundreds to list his 50 Greatest Streatwear Brands.  Not surprisingly, a lot of people are heated. Bobby has been bombarded by an onslaught of comments and tweets since the post went up—both respectful and hostile.  Bobby made it clear in the introduction to his list how he went about choosing and placing the brands, but not everyone is satisfied with his explanation. My personal feeling is that Bobby is free to list any company he wants.  The list is just his opinion so I’m not sure what everyone is getting all agitated for.  Here’s Bobby’s response, which I don’t even feel he was obligated to write. What do you think?
